Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information namit collects when you generate names, check domain and social-handle availability, and build a brand identity — and how we use, share and protect it.
01 Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run namit and improve it over time. This falls into three groups:
- Information you provide. Your account details (name, email and password), the ideas and descriptions you type into the generator, names you save or favorite, and any messages you send to support.
- Information we generate. The names, scores, availability results and brand assets produced for you, along with your preferences such as selected extensions and toggles.
- Information collected automatically. Basic device and usage data — browser type, approximate location derived from IP, pages visited and interactions — gathered through cookies and similar technologies.
We do not ask for payment card numbers directly. When you register a domain, checkout is completed through the registrar you choose, and your payment details are handled by that provider.
02 How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Generate names, check domain and social-handle availability, and build brand identity kits for you.
- Create and secure your account and remember your preferences between visits.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and improve the quality, safety and performance of namit.
- Send important service notices and, where you have opted in, product updates.
- Detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and security issues.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the descriptions you enter to identify you to third parties.
03 How we share information
We share information only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Vendors who host our infrastructure, send email, or provide analytics on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect your data.
- Availability & registration partners. When you check a domain or proceed to register one, the relevant query or order details are passed to registry and registrar partners to complete that action.
- Legal reasons. Where required to comply with applicable law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety and property of namit, our users or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in how your data is handled.
04 Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your theme and preferences, understand how namit is used, and improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect parts of the service, such as staying logged in.
05 Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. After you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
06 Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and request a portable copy of your data.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@namit.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
07 Security
We use technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls and regular reviews — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to safeguard your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
08 Children's privacy
namit is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
09 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of namit after an update means you accept the revised policy.
